This is the central question driving the conference \u2014 inviting participants to open up existing structures and explore new forms of collaboration between culture, business, and society. The perspective deliberately reaches beyond the DACH region to incorporate international viewpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both academic contributions and innovative case studies from practice are welcome. Possible thematic areas include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Approaches<\/strong> \u2014 How do innovative theoretical or empirical approaches in cultural management research help overcome traditional disciplinary boundaries?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strategies<\/strong> \u2014 What innovations from diverse cultural contexts \u2014 from clubs and cinemas to the video game industry and digital platforms \u2014 can inspire cultural management?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Models<\/strong> \u2014 How are organisational forms in the cultural sector changing through hybrid models at the intersection of public funding, market logic, and civil society engagement?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Networks<\/strong> \u2014 How can culture be shaped beyond individual organisations, in spatial or digital networks?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Boundaries<\/strong> \u2014 What boundaries are being broken by new digital developments, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Opportunities<\/strong> \u2014 What possibilities do international perspectives offer for innovation in cultural management?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Processes<\/strong> \u2014 What innovative approaches exist in relation to social transformation processes, urban development, and questions of cultural participation?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Competencies &amp; Future Skills<\/strong> \u2014 What learning formats and skills do cultural managers need in the 21st century?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submission Formats<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions are welcome in the following formats:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Presentations<\/strong> \u2014 20 minutes, Wednesday &amp; Thursday<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poster Sessions<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interactive Workshops<\/strong> \u2014 90 minutes, Friday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Language: German or English<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Abstract Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abstracts must not exceed 500 words and should include five keywords as well as the name, institution, and email address of the contributor(s). Please indicate whether the submission takes a scholarly perspective or addresses a practical problem. For academic contributions: aim, context, theoretical and methodological approach, expected results, and key references. For practice-based contributions: institutional context, stakeholders, problem statement, approaches (e.g. best practices), and lessons learnt. Decisions on acceptance will be communicated by the end of May 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Submit by 17 April 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/hidrive.ionos.com\/upl\/RUz4If7RI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submit your abstract<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Review Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions will be reviewed by the academic committee, consisting of members of Karlshochschule International University and board members of the Association for Cultural Management Research: Bj\u00f6rn Bohnenkamp and Anca Unertl (Karlshochschule), Franziska Breuning (University of Basel), Hellen Gross (Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Franz Liszt Weimar), Christian Holst (Leuphana University L\u00fcneburg), Marlene May (Karlshochschule), and Ringo R\u00f6sener (University of Leipzig).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Publication<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The journal &#8220;Kulturmanagement. Forschung &amp; Transfer&#8221; will dedicate a special issue to the conference theme.
